Advocacy

Homeowners often face serious financial risks when defending themselves against rogue boards, whether through mediation, arbitration, or court actions. While property owners are financially vulnerable, boards use community funds and face no personal financial risk. This creates an unfair advantage for the boards.

At USCFAR, we are committed to strong legal and legislative advocacy to fight incompetent and abusive practices in association communities. Our goal is to fix the system so that legal actions against board members become unnecessary and rare. We aim to grow our organization so we can provide legal support to members involved in high-impact lawsuits that could set legal precedents.

We will also focus on legislative advocacy, hiring lobbyists to push for reforms that improve board oversight and bring better checks and balances. Additionally, we plan to push for stricter rules and penalties for property management companies that fail to guide boards to follow legal standards.

USCFAR supports political candidates from all parties who share our values. By combining grassroots efforts with legal action, we aim to ensure community associations operate fairly and transparently. We strive to give homeowners the support they need to challenge injustices.

The legal system often fails to address problems caused by officers who are either ignorant, incompetent, or corrupt. By addressing the power imbalance and adding checks and balances, we aim to eliminate these issues at their source, allowing communities to run more smoothly.
